Sandpoint Bike Week - Poker Rides

New this year, Bike Week has organized a Poker Ride series. The whole family can enjoy this event.
Come on over with your bikes, register at the start, ride your favorite style of ride, collect your playing cards and return to see what prize your poker hand may have won!

POKER RIDE DETAILS

When: Sunday, May 31th, 2009
Times: Registration opens at 10:30am, Rides start at 11:00am, Rides complete by 1:00pm, Prizes awarded by 1:30pm

Cost: There is no charge to participate in this community event!
Details: There are three different rides to choose from:
  * Children's Ride: Children (accompanied by a parent or guardian) will ride a short, safe and very flat route to collect their playing cards and return to the finsih area. The total lenght of this ride is appox. 5 miles, all on bike lanes or bike trails and only one street crossing.
  * Trail Ride: Riders will head out to explore the trails recently developed by the Pend Oreille Pedalers in the forests west of town to collect their cards. The total ride length is under 10 miles (including some very hilly sections) and may take 1 - 2 hrs to complete. Riders will follow signs and arrows to the next poker card station.
  * Road Ride: Riders will head out with a map in hand to explore the roads near Sandpoint to collect their playing cards before returning. This ride is approx. 25 miles and will take most riders 1½ to 2 hrs to complete. It's okay to use a mountain bike on this ride.
Prizes: A variety of cool bicycling related prizes wil be awarded at the finsih area after riders have returned. The best poker hand in each category will receive a substantial prize, with other prizes awarded as well. We expect prizes to be awarded by 1:30pm.
NOTE: Helmets will be required by all participants in these events!
